Post 8: English Language Challenges

Hi guys welcome to my new post on my blog! Have a good day<3

Learning English at university has been a challenge hahaha, since I was little the language has cost me a lot :(

At the time of taking the placement test I was at level 1 Hahaha, for the same reason I started my first semester of university with English. I have definitely learned new words and expressions, the classes have served me well <3

In relation to blogs, they are my favorite part of the subject! I really enjoy writing them, they are always very interesting and they help me to practice my writing, I also like to read those of my classmates!

I need to improve my listening, I consider that I can read and speak English, but understanding it from other people is more difficult :(

Usually on a scale of 1 to 10, I use English in position 5, because I use it and it helps me when I watch movies and series, read things on the internet and social networks and communicate with people who use English idioms or write in English JAAJJA

Although English is difficult for me, it is a branch that I consider very important as it is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world! Besides, it is very beautiful and interesting :)

Post 7: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hi guys welcome to my new post on my blog! Have a good day<3

I am studying psychology at the University of Chile, I like it, but I would make some changes to improve the university career.

In relation to the study plan, I would change the curriculum. For example, I would leave 1 semester of statistics and not 2, because I think that this subject can be passed in only one semester, in fact the teacher always finishes his clases before he's supposed to hahaha. I would also fix the system to choose elective courses, because very few people are satisfied with the classes they are given, and it is sad to take electives that you don't really want.

On the other hand, the truth is that the academic load seems good to me, I feel that the Faculty of Social Sciences is quite aware in that sense and they seek the mental well-being of the students, giving weeks of recess and being flexible. As for the duration of the career, it seems good to me, it is neither too little nor too much haha.

Unfortunately I have not been able to have face-to-face classes at the JGM campus, so I cannot comment much on infrastructure :(, I just know that it has a great gym! I think that being able to have online classes has been favorable for those people who have good technological material, good family / economic situation, etc. But it has also been unfavorable and unfair for those people who do not have good social / economic conditions to study, it is really sad :(

Finally, I liked the teaching method that it's been used in some courses, the use of capsules and texts for the classes seems good to me, and I also like that the classes are recorded, because sometimes I can not attend all :(

Thanks for reading, see you on the next blog, have a very good week, xoxo<3

Post 6: Postgraduate Studies

Hi guys welcome to my new post on my blog! Have a good day<3

Reading my blogs you may have noticed. that I am an indecisive girl HAHAHAHA, I'm really sorry.

I think that doing a postgraduate is very important, I really want to do one because I love to be constantly learning new things (especially things interest me).

I would like to do a postgraduate degree related to the career I am studying (psychology), but I still have not decided well on what specific subject, because I believe that eventually, after I study more courses of the career I will be able to decide better.

I would also like to do a postgraduate degree abroad, specifically in Spain, perhaps on legal psychology, perhaps clinical, perhaps social or educational ... I'm really not sure hahaha as I said, clearly I haven't decided yet.

I would like to study and live in Spain for as long as I am studying there, I feel that Spain has very good universities and I see potential in several postgraduate courses, apart from being a very beautiful country full of incredible places!

I have realized that these blogs make me think a lot about what I want to do in the future and that makes them interesting ahahaha, but it also generates me a bit of anxiety :( I feel that everything is very uncertain and I hope I can reach all my goals!!

And I hope that you (person who is reading this) can fulfill all your goals and dreams 💛

Post 5: My Future Job

Hi guys welcome to my new post  on my blog! Have a good day<3

I'm a pretty indecisive person :( I'd like to work on a lot of things haha. For example I'd like to work as a psychologist but I still don't decide in which area specifically (I like educational, social, legal and clinical psychology haha), I'd also love to have my own cafeteria, it's one of my dreams<3 I'd also like to be a professor at a university!! (so many things :0)

I think most of my options would be indoors, though maybe educational, social psychology and the cafeteria can be done outdoors. In any of those jobs I would like to travel a lot, my idea is to be always learning new things and that can be achieved very well while traveling. On salary I don't have much expectations hahaha, I think that since I will work on more than one thing at a time, I will win "fine", but the future is uncertain.

About what specialty I want to study, it's complicated haha, right now I like a lot of things and I think over the years I'll realize what kind of psychologist I want to be. All I want is to be able to help people, be happy with what I do and achieve my goals. I think I can achieve my goals if I organize well, I go slow but safe, study a lot and I am constant / persevering (and a bit of luck would be fine hahaha).

Thanks for reading, see you on the next blog, have a very good week, xoxo<3

Post 4: What's like to study psychology?

Hiii guys, welcome to my new post on my blog, have a good day <3

I study psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Chile, nowadays I'm in the 1st semester of the 2nd year of the career.

The truth is that choosing this career was quite an "odyssey" for me hahaha. I was convinced to study medicine for 7 years, but it was because of the pressure from my social environment and family. They used to tell me "you're intelligent, you should study medicine", "you have good grades, study medicine", etc. As I was doing well in the scientific subjects I became convinced that medicine was for me hahaha. But I always found humanist subjects very interesting. When I had a subject called "psychology" I began to doubt what I really wanted to study.

In the last semester of my last year in school I questioned myself a lot about what I should study, I even considered studying theater, but I finally decided to study psychology<3 I decided to study this career because I see myself in the future practicing as a psychologist, it's something that really excites me. I want to help a lot of people, I want to understand them, and support them so that they can have a better life in different fields. I think the work we do as psychologists is very important to society, because mental health problems are growing :(

Clearly studying online is not the way I thought I would study haha, it was something very unexpected. There are days when I see the benefits of studying online and other days I only see how bad haha, sometimes it is complicated because of the connection to wifi: sometimes I drop the signal or I get stuck with classes. Even though I don't have many complications I'm convinced that for many other people it's really complex and distressing to study via online, and that depresses me quite a bit:(  I would also love to see my college classmates and friends and to have a "normal" college life. I hope to do that when the contagions go down and the pandemic is over.

Post 3: Mental health Problems related to a lockdown

Hiii guys, welcome to my new post on my blog<3

Confinement during the pandemic has created a variety of new problems for people's mental health. In my case, my anxiety increased due to the lockdown. This anxiety usually manifests itself in my desire to eat all the time. Despite this problem, I am grateful not to suffer too much because of the confinement. I think the pandemic can lead to and aggravate serious mental disorders like depression or bipolarity :(

Sometimes with the pandemic people can feel lonely, bored or tired of monotony. To deal with my own anxiety, I try to do activities that distract me and make me have fun like doing exercise, reading, watching series, walking my dog, cooking, listening to music, etc. I also try to have a healthy diet and talking to my friends and with my boyfriend by video calls.

Finally, I think it's important to mention how beneficial it is to attend to psychological therapy during this pandemic because it allows us to talk about how we feel and get professional help. When the pandemic is over I plan to enjoy the freedom to go out, walk around places of Santiago, see my loved ones, go to concerts, second-hand shops and cafes/restaurants hahahaha, I miss doing those things a lot.

Post 2: The best holidays ever

Hiii guys, welcome to my new post on my blog<3

My best holidays were during January and February 2018. I toured much of the southern of Chile for about 25 days. We traveled by airplane with my boyfriend to Puerto Montt and from there we continued backpacking to the south<3.

We camped, we stayed in hostels and family homes, like at my grandmother´s house in "Rio Bueno", my aunt´s house in "Temuco", the home of a relative of my boyfriend in "Pucon", the house of my cousins in "Puerto Varas", etc. We did a lot of fun and interesting things. We went by boat, toured Valdivia, Frutillar (beautiful place), Osorno, Villarica and many other places, ate a lot of food and also cooked a lot hahaha<3

I remember one day while camping at night we did not sleep at all and we stayed talking and listening to music until dawn. I also remember visiting a lot of cafes because they are places that I really like! We went to the coffee festival in Puerto Varas and the music festival in Rio Bueno ahahaha

Something that was very much fun was when we went to Chiloé and had to cross by ferry to get to the island, it was amazing!

Those days were (and still are) my best vacations because I did a lot of new things, like traveling independently with my boyfriend and also we lived amazing and different experiences that I will never forget<3
